Quick Hits: US Open signs Esurance, books Estefan and Amanpour

Here's a round-up of tennis business stories for the week.

- In junior competition news, USTA Southern's Southern Smashers co-ed team won the World TeamTennis Junior Nationals for the fourth time in six years. And, Chile won the boys' 2010 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic, while the USA took the girls' title. 
 
- Ashaway's New Dynamite line of Zyex-based tennis strings is designed to provide soft power, reduce tension loss, maximize control and increase spin.
 
Journalist Christiane Amanpour and singer Gloria Estefan will be featured in the US Open Opening Ceremony on Aug. 30, which includes tributes to Martina Navratilova, James Blake, wheelchair tennis player Esther Vergeer and USTA member Dori Samadzai-Bonner, who is a native of Afghanistan.

- Esurance is the latest company to sign on as an official sponsor of the US Open. The auto insurer will include the Open logo on TV and web ads, and it will sponsor free Metrocard distribution to encourage fans to take mass transit as part of the Open's green initiative.

The Mercury Insurance Open's Triumph Over Breast Cancer Benefit & Auction, featuring Pam Shriver as emcee and Lindsay Davenport, among others, raised more than $30,000 for Tri-City Medical Center.
 
- Tennis Channel airs a special about the renovation of Nashville courts damaged by flooding in "Community Surface built by Sportmaster" on Sept. 13.
