Quick Hits: ESPN features Sharapova at Chernobyl, Davidoff ends Swiss indoors sponsorship

Here's a round-up of tennis business stories for the week.

- ESPN's E:60 program on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. ET features Maria Sharapova visiting Chernobyl, where she has done significant work as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador to help the community affected by the nuclear reactor explosion. Her parents lived 100 miles from the site when the disaster occured, five months before her birth.
 
- Dr. Deborah MacFarlane—a founder, leader, and builder of NYC nonprofit community organizations in the areas of education and community development—has joined New York Junior Tennis League as chief executive officer. She will succeed Jim O'Neill, who has been serving as interim acting President/CEO
.
 
- Davidoff has ended a 17-year sponsor relationship with the ATP World Tour's Swiss indoors in Basel, reportedly due to worldwide laws on tobacco advertising on TV.
 
- The 2012 Olympic Games tennis competition will take place on 12 courts at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, home of Wimbledon, and it will have a capacity of 26,000 spectators, according to this report. The all-white apparel rule will be suspended for the Games.
